Mark Allen King, Sr.

Mark Allen King, Sr. was born April 5, 1961 at the old Marion County General Hospital when his parents lived on the Southside of Indianapolis. He resided with his parents and grandparents above the Hayes General Store at the corner of McCarty and Kenwood Avenue for the first seven years of his life.  After the passing of his grandfather Carl Hayes in 1968, the Hayes extended family moved to different places in Indianapolis. Mark and his six siblings settled down in the Beechwood Gardens Apartments where he attended IPS School 99. While in middle school the family moved to Haughville where he attended School 52; Washington High School and Shortridge High School.  The King family moved to Amber Woods on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis, where he met his lifelong best friends Jerrell McVea and Waive Nance (Pluto).  He attended John Marshall High School and after High School enlisted in the United States Army. Mark accepted Christ as a young boy and after a long battle with many health issues he was called home to join his family and friends in Heaven on October 04, 2022, at the age of 61 years, 5 months, and 29 days.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth (Hayes) Humble and Joseph King, Jr., wives Sheryl D. (Jackson) King and LeAngela (Falconer) King, and brother Jimmie King.  

He leaves behind two children Mark Allen King, Jr. (Sophia) and Kenneath David King (Akeshia); three stepchildren Leticia Johnson, John Radford, Jr., and Kymberlee’ Radford. Six grandchildren Aison King, Kaydence King, Jackson King, Kashton King, Aerilynn King, and Troy King, seven step-grandchildren Jamari, Jarard and Ja’Miya Willis; Jayce and Journee Wells; Kai’dynn Radford, Ky’mora Radford, K’ace Radford, Kory Treadwell, and Makayla Treadwell; one step great – grandchildren Amyr’ St John; two aunts Florence Hayes and Pauline Smith; seven siblings Alice King (Roderick), Carl King (Linda), David King (Teresa), Cathy King, Karlene King, Lisa King, and Joseph K. King; brother-in-law Marcus Falconer; twenty-two nieces and nephews  thirteen great nieces and nephews a host of other cousins, relatives, friends and associates that loved him.

There remain 38 direct descendants of Elizabeth L. Hayes-King-Humble (RIP 11/13/2009) (6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
