Mark D. Harrison

Mark D. Harrison, Sr. was born June 14, 1965 in Indianapolis, In to Alice Mae (Brown) and Edgar Harrsion, Sr.. Mark received his elementary education at the Indianapolis Public School #71 and was a graduate of Arlington High School. Mark was baptized at an early age in Irvington First Baptist Church under the leadership of late Rev. John D. Adaway. He was a drummer, sang in the Pastor’s Choir, sang with the Male Chorus and was known for his ability to play the tambourine with ease. Mark was currently a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and sang with the Male Chorus.

Mark was married to his childhood sweetheart Susan Austin on June 6, 1991 for 33 years and they were blessed with one son Mark, Jr. In all, Mark and Susan had 45 years together. Over the years Mark worked for Inland Container, Children's Guardian Home, Crossroad Dairy-Kroger, and drove the family car for Craig Funeral Home and also Glazebrooks Funeral Service in Anderson, IN.Mark was young at heart with a large personality. He was very outgoing with an infectious smile. He loved playing drums, and spending time with his family. Mark was love by all that knew him.

Mark D. Harrison, Sr, transitioned peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the age of 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar M. and Alice Mae Harrison; mother-in-law, China Austin; brother, Dennis Harrison and brother-in-law Carl Carruthers.

He leaves to cherish is memory his loving wife Susan Harrison; son, Mark Harrsion, Jr (Kennedy); grandson, Mark Harrison III and his mother Lanisha Jackson; grandchildren, Elijah Broadus, Aeren Broadus, Amara Harrison, Aria Harrison; goddaughter, Amber Broadus; four brothers, Edgar “Eddie” Jr. (Kerry), James (Alfreda), Derek and William Scott Harrison; three sisters, Rebecca Harrison, Delores Harrison -Carruthers and Mary Harrison. Mark’s spirit will forever live in the hearts of those whom had the pleasure of knowing him, loving him and will hold memories of him.
