Lisa Kimberly Rogers was born in Indianapolis on October 17, 1965 to Lowery R. Rogers and Willa B. Clark. She was the middle child of three girls. She attended IPS elementary schools #64 and #53 and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1984.
She was an account specialist with Brinks and Kroger before becoming a Lead Teacher in the child care program at the Concord Neighborhood Center.
Lisa was a loving, supportive woman during her short time here with us. She embraced many roles on her journey. Self-less daughter, caring sister, loving auntie, hardworking mother, supportive Go
She was in her words, a jack of all trades in the midst of mastering most! She enjoyed cooking for her family, crocheting, and watching sports especially Lebron playing basketball and Serena winning championships! In her spare time, she enjoyed her movies, music, working puzzles and problem solving. She had an aptitude for numbers and math and was everybody’s tax lady!
Her role as Auntie created the avenue to further her understanding of life. The love she had for her nieces and nephews crossed 3 generations of children she loved as her own. While embracing this role it fostered her creativity, softened her heart and understanding ear, making her a teacher long before her final career as a Lead Teacher at Concord Neighborhood Center.
While embracing her short empty nester phase, she conquered her fears of planes and boats during her Hoosier Lottery won Bahamas cruise with her Sister and Best Friend Lynnette Corbin. The joy and happiness that trip brought her stayed with her until her final days. To be loved by her meant right or wrong you could count on her to be by your side! The loyalty she extended was nothing short of everlasting! In her final moments her love of music from Gerald LeVert to Ice Cube, Gangsta Rap to Gospel kept her in high spirits as she made transition home.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Lisa departed this life on May 12, 2021 at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 12 days.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Lowery and Willa a sister Lachelle and brothers Leonard, Britt and Lyle.
