Lillie F. Dodson was born February 3, 1931 in Clarksville, Tennessee to Lula Mae Herring.
Lillie moved from Clarksville, Tennessee to Indianapolis Indiana at the young age of nine with her parents, siblings and cousins. Lil is what most people called Lillie.
Lil attended Indianapolis Public School #12 and Crispus Attucks High School. Lillie was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin. She was a homemaker helped the family out any way that she could and opened her doors for a place to stay. She loved bingo, playing poker, deuces, spades just about any card game there was to play. She loved to cook and clean her home. Lillie had a different way of showing her love to you. Her house was so clean you could eat off the floor. She was known as being the mean person literally and blunt didn’t hold her tongue.
Lillie “Lil” Frances Dodson, departed this earthly at the age of 93, on September 6,2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband James F. Dodson, Sr; a stepson, James F. Dodson, Jr (Butch), three sisters, Annie, Dorothy and Laverne (Vern), as well as grandson, Rudy Dodson and a host of cousins.
Lillie leaves to cherish her one and only son Reggie J. Dodson Sr,; grandchildren, Reggie J. Dodson Jr, Tara Deberry (Mario), and Ashley Dodson; eight great-grandchildren, Shameer Dodson, Samiyah Dodson, Reginae Dodson, Kiara Wilson, Alelia Little, Asia Dodson, Amauri Anderson, and Arianne Anderson.; nieces Angie Granger, Anthony “Tony” Ayers, and Tasha Holloway; 1st Augustine Wilson and a host of cousins, family and friends.
